Sheila Taormina competed in four Olympic games.
She’s the only woman in the world to have competed in three different sports on the Olympic stage—swimming, triathlon, and modern pentathlon.
At just 5’ 2” tall, Taormina focused on refining her freestyle swim technique to win a gold medal in the 1996 Olympics and the 2004 ITU triathlon world championship.
In this interview, Sheila talks about her approach to qualifying for the U.S. Olympic triathlon team.
Learn how to swim with Sheila’s exceptional freestyle technique in her new book Swim Speed Secrets. Swim Speed Secrets is available now in bookstores, tri and swim shops, and online.
